Wine Library's 10th Annual Super Tasting

Joseph and Curtis are proud partners with The Wine Library, which held their  10th annual Super tasting Monday and Tuesday, October 11th and 12th from  5:30-9:30 pm. Shafer, Caymus, Don Melchor, Catena Zapata, Pahlmeyer, Galatrona,  and Sassicaia to name a few...)  of highly rated wines and stunning sleepers  from around the world. Hundreds and hundreds of highly rated wines from Robert  Parker, Wine Spectator, Stephen Tanzer, and other top name critics were and are  still available to try! This is the evening no wine lover can miss! In the  elegant setting of The Manor, we tasted hundreds of wines and feasted on an  outstanding array of fine foods and dessert!Of all the wines we tried  our top 3 were:

• La Roncaia which is a red wine from Northeast Italy...had a  terrific finish and over the evening I went back several times and was impressed  with how well the wine opened up...berries and spice...great wine in the $32  range.
• 2008 Orin Swift Saldo $28 was spicy...smooth and elegant...many  of you will know the prisoner...but I would highly recommend this little  gem. 91 Points - Wine Spectator "Well-built, yet rich and stylish, with  spicy blackberry aromas and zesty, layered flavors of black cherry and licorice  framed by toasty oak. Offers a long, satisfying finish. Drink now through 2015.  14,000 cases made"
• Faust Cabernet (grapes that do not make it into  Quintessa go into this beauty) This was a great surprise...was very impressed  with the structure and smoothness...for the $40 range its a steal.

A  silent auction was held where portions of the proceeds from the Monday night  tasting benefited the The Children's IBD Center at Mount Sinai, www.ibdkids.org and a portion of the proceeds  from the Tuesday night tasting benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research  Foundation, http://www.jdrf.org/chapters/NJ/Central-JerseyJoseph  and Curtis Custom Wine Cellars will be in attendance both nights and would love  to see all of you!
