Hospitality Wine Cellars
The Athletic Club
Eleven floors up in a landmark building off Central Park, the New York Athletic Club's dining room had everything but wine storage. Working with architects Woods Bagot on the room's redesign, we built two 14-foot-tall, 11-foot-wide wine towers in walnut, metal, and glass - their finish matched to the two-hundred-year-old ceiling overhead. Getting them there was the trick: landmark buildings keep small elevators, and the towers fit like a glove. Together they hold 800 bottles, whites in the left tower, reds in the right - an amenity few clubs in the city can answer.
